Deep Freeze

A real-time 3D High Dynamic Range scene from the year 2005, made for benchmarking software called 3DMark by a company called Futuremark. I worked on this with a young talented 3D guy called Hazok.

The idea of the scene was to have a lot of geometry with realtime lights and shadows to stress the graphics card rendering capabilities. This is one of the very first HDR real-time demos in the world. The assets and scenes were done in Softimage and the rendering engine was Futuremark’s proprietary in-house engine.

The soundtrack is the work of Markus “Captain” Kaarlonen, I asked him to do a take on John Carpenter’s synth style reminiscent of the Thing.
